  • Airplane: Gandhi travelled around the world inspiring others...South Africa, United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, America, etc...
  • Fruits: Gandhi, sustained a fruitarian diet for 5 years. He apparently discontinued the diet and went back to vegetarianism due to pleurisy, a pre-existing condition, after pressure from Dr. Jivraj Mehta.
  • Goat: Gandhi used to travel with his goat so that he could have fresh milk.
  • Charkha: Gandhi brought the charkha into wider use with his teachings. He hoped the charkha would assist the people of India achieve self-sufficiency and independence, and therefore used the charkha as a symbol of the Indian independence movement and included it on earlier versions of the Flag of India.
  • Animals: “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
  • Music Notes: he was a great lover of music, though his philosophy of music was different. In his own words -“Music does not proceed from the throat alone. There is music of mind, of the senses and of the heart".
  • Book, Old Pen and Ink: As a writer, Gandhi wrote "Hind Swaraj" ( The Indian Home Rule) being this the first book written by him...the father of nation. The book was written in 1909.
  • Scale of Justice and Hammer: he studied law and jurisprudence and was invited to enroll at Inner Temple, London with the intention of becoming a barrister.
  • Handcuffs: On March 10, 1922, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was arrested on charges of sedition by British officials in Bombay (now Mumbai), India. He was sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in protesting the British colonial government in India.
  • Indian Flag: The National Flag of India is a horizontal rectangular tricolour of India saffron, white and India green.
